We Know Cardiff. We Work Cardiff Every Day.
CMJ Electrical is a Cardiff-based electrical contractor. We're not a national company farming out jobs to subcontractors. Our team lives and works in the city, and we cover the whole of Cardiff from our base in CF3.
Cardiff has a real mix of property types. Victorian terraces in Roath and Canton, 1930s and 1950s semis in Cyncoed and Heath, new-build apartments in Cardiff Bay, and large detached properties in Llandaff and Rhiwbina. Each type of property comes with its own electrical history, and we know what to expect from all of them.
Whether you need a full rewire on an old terraced house, a consumer unit upgrade before selling, an EICR for a rental property, or commercial electrical work for a business premises, we can help. We're NAPIT certified, so all our work is independently checked and notified to building control. You get the paperwork, and it's done properly.
We try to get back to every enquiry the same day. For jobs we've quoted, we book in quickly and stick to the schedule we agreed. No showing up a day late, no calling off at the last minute.

There's a real difference between a company with a Cardiff office number and one that actually operates from the city. We're genuinely local. We know the property types, we know the common faults, and we know the postcode that takes twenty minutes longer than expected on a Friday afternoon.
Cardiff's housing stock varies a lot by area. The Victorian terraces in Roath and Splott often have wiring installed in the 1960s or 70s, years after the houses were built, and some still have the original rubber-insulated cables. The 1930s semis in Cyncoed, Heath and Llandaff frequently have fuse boards with no RCD protection at all. The new-build apartment blocks in Cardiff Bay have modern consumer units but landlords still need an EICR every five years to comply with the regulations.
Knowing what you're likely to find before you open the consumer unit cupboard saves time on the job. It also means the quote is more accurate, because we've done the same job on the same type of house dozens of times before.
