Electric Shower Installation Cardiff

Electric shower installation is one of those jobs that looks simple until it isn't. An 8.5kW or 10.5kW shower pulls a significant current and needs a correctly sized dedicated circuit, the right cable cross-section, and an RCBO in the consumer unit to protect it. Bathrooms are also a special location under the wiring regulations, with strict rules about what can go where. We do these jobs regularly across Cardiff and know what's involved.

What's included

Replacing an existing shower

If you're replacing a shower unit with one of the same kW rating, we may be able to use the existing circuit if it's in good condition and correctly sized. If you're upgrading from a smaller shower to a higher-rated one, the circuit will almost certainly need replacing too.

We'll check the existing installation when we come to quote. If the current circuit is undersized or the consumer unit doesn't have space for a new RCBO, we'll tell you what's needed before the work starts.

Do you supply the shower unit?

We focus on the electrical installation. Most customers prefer to source their own shower unit. We're happy to advise on what kW rating is appropriate for your property's water pressure and supply, but we leave the choice of unit to you. Bring it or have it delivered before the appointment and we'll handle the rest.
